Fully remodel and update a typical New England double decker to meet the modern needs of a small family with professional parents and young children. Solution:
Main unit: 4 beds . 3 baths . 2345 SF 2019-2020. Double and triple deckers were invented in New England in the nineteenth century to meet the housing needs of a rapidly growing population. Today, these houses are found all over cities like Providence, Boston, and their bedroom communities. Though their interiors are out of date, these houses can be renovated to offer a great opportunity for prospective homeowners to break into today's tight real estate market. David Sisson Architecture redesigned the second and third floors of this typical Providence double decker house to serve as a primary residence for the owner. The first floor was refreshed for rental as an income-generating property. In addition, the entire house received a new HVAC system, new siding, windows, and doors throughout. |
