The second floor of the Design Center at Rhode Island School of Design featured a number of outdated conference rooms and offices that no longer served the needs of the school. The school sought to open this section of the building up, and commissioned us to design a modern, open and collaborative studio space. Large historic windows were included in the studio, helping the room feel spacious and filled with natural light. Open wall space with track lighting stationed in the new ceiling will be available to hang student work for exhibition or critique.
