Needs and Options Review
The Problem
As a building owner, the prospect of renovating, adding on or building new can be very exciting. However, without proper planning, the process can become stressful and complicated. Just as you would not expect your doctor to prescribe medication for you without first diagnosing your illness, likewise, it is risky to start your project without a full understanding of your unique constraints.
We have developed the Needs and Options Review as a critical first step for launching your project successfully.
The Promise
The Needs and Options Review will allow you to fully understand the requirements, constraints, and potential roadblocks for your project. Specifically:
• It will help you prioritize your goals.
• It will allow you to explore options you might have not considered.
• It will uncover valuable planning information that will aid preliminary pricing for design and construction.
• It will lay the foundation for more informed decision-making, which, in the long run, will save you time and money.
• It will allow us both to assess whether our working relationship is a good fit.
The Process
We have developed three Needs and Option Review packages to suit your needs.
• The Initial Consult package would be helpful if you would like an architect to visit, give you some observations about
the physical condition of your building, talk to you about possible design solutions and provide you with an idea of
what next steps you should take.
• The Feasibility Study package will help you determine whether your project is actually feasible, whether your budget
is realistic, and whether any key code or zoning regulations or reviews would need to be addressed for your project to
proceed.
• The Preliminary Design package will provide you with design solutions to help prioritize your needs, explore ideas you
haven’t considered, and provide you with an idea of what various design options will cost to build.
The Investment
Your investment is determined by which package best suits your needs. At the end of your Needs and Options Review, we will provide you with a report that is yours to keep. The report may be used with us or another design professional of your choosing.
